Subnautica's oceans range from sun drenched shallow coral reefs to treacherous deep-sea trenches, lava fields, and bio-luminescent underwater rivers. You have crash-landed on an alien ocean world, and the only way to go is down. A massive, open world full of wonder and peril awaits you! Either way, we’re likely at least several years away from whatever the team has planned next.Subnautica is an underwater adventure game set on an alien ocean planet. Whether or not that’s a hint about the studio’s next game remains to be seen. “We talked about setting it inside the human body or doing inner space-style exploration,” Kalina also revealed. In that same interview, Kalina also spoke about the development team “trying to imagine a Subnautica-like game in other environments, whether it's an above-ground aerial game or a space game.” Any Subnautica-styled game from the team would likely take a similar approach to “a frontier that hasn't been explored.” We're trying to invent and that's a different challenge. It sounds like the most fun part, but in some ways, it's more stressful than just being on a production team where you know exactly what I'm doing. So we're basically doing that fantasy video game job of “let's just make stuff up and try to figure and prototype it and see if it works.” We're pretty early in that process and it's really hard. There's about a dozen of us who are just working on concept discovery. But I think it's pretty safe to say that'll happen someday.Ĭan you say anything about the thing you're working on now? There is another game in development in-house that hopefully people will know about this year. It's just that some people have worked on Subnautica for about eight years. Then beyond that, we will almost definitely do a proper sequel someday. We're not committed to anything specific right now, because we want to kind of listen to the community and see, see what our fans are telling us. So there's a lot of stuff to keep an eye on.īut then beyond that, there will be more feature work. We're dealing with a release that's very multi-platform for the first time in-house. In the medium term, there's a little live team that’s going to continue supporting both Subnautica and Below Zero. Here’s exactly what David Kalina had to say about the future of Subnautica and Unknown World’s next title. The team is just taking time to listen to community feedback before rolling anything new out. Even if a third game is still years off, Kalina says more “feature work” is coming to the series down the road. In the meantime, Kalina says that the team is hard at work supporting both the original Subnautica and Below Zero. While he didn’t share any exact details on it, Kalina says that the game is currently in development and that fans may get some news on it later this year. Kalina confirmed that developer Unknown Worlds has a new project in the works, which is entirely separate from Subnautica. Unknown Worldsįans shouldn’t expect that anytime soon, however. Two design decisions share the dubious honor of being the worst features of a game where very little thought have obviously been poured in. I won't be nitpicking about graphics and sound, because the gameplay is so bad that anything else is simply not worth mentioning. On paper, several great concepts share the spotlight : the game has pirates, legendary cities, the possibility to have a career devoted to trade or pirate hunting. Oh, and it does not take place in outer space, but in the Far East. A casual trading game that sounds a bit like "Elite", but with less options, so as not to be overwhelming. The prospect was appealing because, in theory, Tradewinds is based on a great concept. Tradewinds is my first "adventure in random gaming". I have decided to regularly play any game I stumble upon by following it. One of the things I love about Mobygames is the "Random Game" link. Players can target specific ships for their fleet to focus on, or attempt to flee.Īs the game progresses, more powerful ships become available, more valuable goods enter the market, and more deadly enemies scour the seas looking for prey. Shipyards offer repairs, new ships, and more cannons (at the cost of cargo space).Īt sea, the player encounters pirates and fights them in a simple turn-based battle. Port Authorities warn of pirate attacks, and pay bounties on the defeated enemies. Taverns offer tips and insider information about the markets. Moneylenders will help you in your time of need for a steep price. In the ports, players click on and enter various buildings: Bankers store your money where it accrues interest and is safe from thieves, but where you cannot spend it. Players select a playable character and begin sailing among seven ports, buying goods at low prices and selling them elsewhere at high prices. This casual game is set in a fictitious Far East, among coastal ports and and a secret floating pirate city. We selected a brand called Canidae () which has a 5 star rating and is not overpriced like some other brands which aren't half as good as this one. Also one should look for dog food containing a minimum of 25% protein and a minimum of 12% fat content. I always thought that its a good idea to pick out a dog food that lists Meat (chicken, lamb or beef) as their first ingredient (the ingredients are listed in order of descending amounts in the dog food) But the website mentions that its not a good idea to look for food like that as the meat which is listed as first ingredient will have 80% water content which if removed pushes it down to the 5th or 6th in line.hence making the second ingredient which could be corn or brewers rice the top ingredient in the dog food.Ī better idea is to look for 'meat' (chicken, lamb or beef) meal.as the water content is already removed. They mentioned a lot of tips on how to select good dog food. We came across this website for dog food analysis () which I thought was wonderful. So we set out to look for a decent dry kibble that was good which I could pair with some cooked turkey or chicken. But we decided against it as we were concerned about the bones hurting him inside and parasites n the meat. Shadow loved eating those.raw! And we noticed that his coat was shinier and he looked strong.not fat. Q came home with a pack of turkey necks from our local Piggly Wiggly. We read reviews which were almost always positive, people swore that the diet was the best thing their dogs could have. Then we came across a raw meat diet for dogs which was so convincing. Dogs are carnivores (and they have the teeth to prove it!) I started some research on pet food and was horrified to learn that the dry food we were feeding Shadow was pretty ! The protein in the kibble was mainly corn (which caused gas and bloating) and the amount of meat content was painfully low. But then we also noticed that he had a distended stomach and he bottom burped a lot.sometimes audible ones!! So that evening i separated the colored chow and he ate the plain kibble, which made him feel better. We gave him Purina puppy chow which had colored kibble mixed with the plain brown kibble. He told us it was possible that Shadow is allergic to something in his food. Our vet noticed that he scratched himself a lot even though he was free of any fleas or ticks. *Behavior Problems: We address all problems in open forum.I wanted to blog about Dog Food right from the day when we realized that we may not be feeding Shadow the best dog food available. *Commands: Taught at the puppy level, we teach Sit, Down, Stand, Off, Come, Give(releasing coveted objects), heeling, Moving drops, Stays *5 minutes of socialization/play: We use this time to teach the puppies to come when called with distractions, and overcoming any socialization issues they may have. It is a drop in course and most classes take on a life of their own depending on the mix of puppies we have at the time. Your first session always includes a private orientation to get you and pup off on the right foot….or paw. This class is for puppies 10 weeks to 5 months. ……… and these “good behaviors” become all the puppy knows. Repetition of this pattern reinforces the behaviors. By teaching the puppy the RIGHT course to follow you create a pattern to their behavior. It is widely believed that avoiding a problem is much easier that solving one. Guidance and structure when introduced at an early age, teaches the puppy the basis for a communicative relationship with its human guardian. In other words we teach the puppy how to “learn” and that learning gets them all the great things in life. He learns what makes you happy and what doesn’t……and most importantly how that effects him. This is when your puppy learns as much about you as you learn about him. You are setting up the rules that will carry this puppy through a lifetime. This is also when you define your relationship with your puppy. When that light bulb goes on you can see it in their eyes. And watching a puppy pick up new things can be a sight to behold. As a behaviorist, this is the time when the most GOOD can be done. These are canine personalities in the making and it is at this level that ALL future behavior issues can be avoided. Each puppy kindergarten class is a mini seminar on developing canine behavior. 05rIYp9B7U- Pulp Librarian 13 January 2018 Not to be outdone the beauty industry began to hype Radium as a miracle element that could rejuvenate skin, make lips more luscious, and literally make a face glow. It took the death of a male employee of the radium firm for experts to finally take the issue seriously. But 800 miles away in Ottawa, Illinois, where a new studio had opened, the painters were unaware of the problems - and their employers did not inform them of the now-established danger.” Moore writes: “In New Jersey, the women’s illnesses had an understandable effect on the profession’s popularity: dial painting declined. The only study into the safety of radium was conducted in the same factory.Īccording to Moore, instead of radium firms suspending dial-painting, the managers refused to accept any responsibility and vowed to find the “real cause” of the women’s illness. Radium was not suspected at first because the official line was that it was safe in small doses. sbR334rpAE- Pulp Librarian 13 January 2018 In the 1920s it was marketed as a 'scientific' panacea of wellness. Radium and radioactivity was soon a main ingredient in quack medicine: with extravagent claims made for its health-restoring and energetic properties. Radium was marketed as a health product, with radium infused water, cosmetics and toothbrushes. What’s worse was that radium companies fed the public the lie that small amounts of radium was actually good for you.ĭuring the height of radium’s popularity, between 19, it was mostly used by the Radiation Corporation in the US to paint clock and watch faces.įor fun, some women even painted their teeth so, when they arrived home in the dark, their mouths would be glowing. Why else would male employees working with larger amounts of radium be required to wear lead aprons? But the women believed what they were told and continued sucking their paintbrushes, completely oblivious to the fact that they were poisoning themselves. They were assured by the factory bosses that radium was perfectly safe. 2dJCjFtbep- Pulp Librarian 13 January 2018 Radium Corporation, applying Radium paint to watch dials and licking the brushes to keep them pointed. In 1925 the New Jersey medical examiner had been investigating the dearhs of women working for the U.S. The women painted up to 200 watches per day and with every number they painted, they ingested a small amount of radium. After they painted a number, they had to put the tip of the camel-haired paintbrush between their lips to make a fine point. It was seen as a relatively safe job - until the women were instructed to suck their paintbrushes to make a very fine point, making it easier to carry out the intricate work needed to get the numbers small enough. Back then, radium wasn’t considered to be dangerous in small doses. The work involved using luminous radium paint to make the numbers on clocks, watches and aeronautic dials glow in the dark. “Made possible by the magic of radium!” promised one advertisement. Wearing a watch with a glow-in-the-dark dial was the hot new fashion accessory. The women were paid up to three times the amount they’d be earning at other factories.Īlso, because the most of the dials were for military use, the women were made to feel important, that they were making a difference in helping with the war effort. In 1916, dial painting was the trendy new profession for young American and Canadian women it was artistic and well-paid. Hundreds of women worked in clock factories during WWI where they painted watch and clock dials with glow-in-the-dark radium paint. “It’s important to bring the community together to appreciate art, while offering artists a platform to share their passion.”Īrtwork from over 200 international, national and local San Diego artists will surround the picturesque Ingram Plaza rose garden where attendees can view and purchase every medium of art including painting, sculpture, glass work, fine jewelry, photography and more. “ArtWalk Liberty Station returns to the heart of Liberty Station’s Arts District to celebrate San Diego’s local artistic talent as well as national and international artists for its 13th straight year,” said Sandi Cottrell, ArtWalk San Diego director.
